Indigo dyer
A representative of the world of "natural indigo dyeing/hon-indigo dyeing."
The Dance of the Heavenly Maiden is a supreme work of art that showcases Yano Aishu's perfected skills.
We create indigo liquid in an indigo vat using a technique called "natural lye fermentation" (a rare technique even in Japan that has been handed down for over 600 years), and then use that indigo liquid for dyeing.
It is a process that requires a great deal of time and effort, and the artisan's five senses, but by avoiding the careless use of chemicals, it is possible to produce genuine indigo dye with vivid colors and a variety of effects that are only possible with natural indigo.
